SPARTA

The Sparta Drilling System (SDS) is a safe, highly efficient, fast moving rig designed for well programs where drilling time is minimal and fast efficient rig moves are essential. This flexible modular design is capable of rigging up the V-Door in either the X or Y axis position from well to well, meeting the strictest DOT load limitations.

The SDS combines two industry proven structure technologies, a vertically erecting mast and the hydraulic winch raised parallelogram substructure. The free standing mast can be supplied in Range 2 doubles or triples. The 1000hp triples and doubles masts are designed to transport as a single load with the traveling block and top drive. The 1500hp mast transports in two loads, the top drive in the lower section and the traveling block / drill line spooler in the intermediate and upper section.

  • SAFE AND HIGHLY EFFICIENT
  • ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY RIG DESIGN
  • DIESEL POWERED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
  • NO CRANES ARE REQUIRED
  • AVAILABLE IN 1000HP - 200HP
  • VERTICALLY ERECTING MAST
  • HYDRAULIC WINCH-RAISED SUBSTRUCTURE
  • ALL COMPONENTS REQUIRING ELEVATION ARE HYDRAULICALLY RAISED

MAST AND SUBSTRUCTURE

Drill floor center section comprised of two skid assemblies:

  • Drawworks and setback / integrated independent rotary system.

Center section skids:

  • Designed to be lowered into the sub boxes.
  • Occurs at ground level off of a traditional oilfield tailboard type trailer.

Drilling System loads:

  • Less than 12ft. wide 10ft. 6in. tall, and 55ft. long.
  • Standard location is 20 loads.

Optional Items:

  • Electrically-powered electronically controlled Air package sound attenuation.
  • Automated pipe handling.
  • Weatherization, steam or electric heating.
  • Systems for colder climates.

WALKING SYSTEM ADVANTAGES:

  • Over 2 Million poounds of lift capicity.
  • Ability to not only skid the rig, but also transport full stands of setback.
  • Skids 8m in less than 45 minutes.
  • Less rig down meaning less wear on the structure.
  • Less time to relocate the rig.
  • More time spent drilling.
